BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO "LUCE" FRESCOBALDI 2018
Of the 88 hectares of vineyards owned by Luce della Vite, 11 are registered in the Brunello di Montalcino register. Here comes the Sangiovese for Luce Brunello, our tribute to this excellent wine born in Montalcino in the second half of the nineteenth century. It was the first in Italy to achieve, in 1980, the recognition of the Controlled and Guaranteed Designation of Origin and today it is one of the most representative of the excellent wines made in Italy. Luce Brunello di Montalcino thus continues a path of the highest quality inspired by the uniqueness of the territory of origin and the great wines that are born here.

The 2015 harvest at Tenuta Luce will be a year to remember for the great quality and health of the grapes. The climatic trend was characterized by a cool and rainy spring which allowed to give the right stimulus to the vines and to create an important reserve
water in the subsoil, a fundamental condition for avoiding stress on the vine given the dry and sunny climate present in the summer months. Subsequently, the excellent thermal excursions in September contributed to the perfect phenolic ripeness of the grapes. Even the aromatic ripening benefited from the cool days of the weeks preceding the harvest, thus allowing us to obtain healthy and intact grapes with small and sparse bunches.
The vinification begins with the fermentation tanks in stainless steel at a controlled temperature of 28 °. After four weeks on the skins, the aging takes place for at least 24 months in Slavonian oak barrels and subsequently.
Brunello Luce 2015 has an intense ruby red color, pervading complex aromatic notes of ripe black fruits, licorice followed by hints of tobacco and truffles. In the mouth it seduces with its softness and freshness, unfolding a refined structure, built from velvety tannins. The finish is completed with an extraordinary persistence and elegance.
