"QUATER VITIS" ROSSO FIRRIATO 2016
The four Crus of Quater Vitis Rosso express all the personalities of as many Sicilian autochthonous varieties in a single and different vinification process, and then harmoniously unite, after meticulous tastings that certify the right level of maturation, in a single wine. Quater Vitis Rosso is produced using the best grapes of the year of Nero d'Avola, Perricone, Frappato from the vineyards of Pianoro Cuddìa and Nerello Cappuccio, from the Cavanera Etnea estate. These varieties are bred with agronomic practices diversified by vine, as are the grape harvest times, which are completed by the middle of September for the vines of Frappato, Perricone and Nero d'Avola, in the month of October, for the Nerello Cappuccio grape variety. The manual harvest allows a selection of the bunches that are placed in a wooden box so as not to compromise the perfect integrity of the berries. As they arrive in the cellar, each single variety undergoes a further selection to begin the vinification and aging process separately, carried out in separate tanks and barriques, so that each cru can best enhance the characteristics of each variety.
