FRANCIACORTA ROSE' EXTRA BRUT BARONE PIZZINI 2016
The first organic Franciacorta. A wine that makes the territory its strongest ally, and from it draws the uniqueness and character that distinguish it. Organic viticulture is the natural destination of a journey aimed at seeking the maximum representation of a territory. Respect for nature is the necessary condition to obtain from it fruits full of life and great expressive potential. The balance between man and nature is a prerequisite for a wine with a strong bond to its land, unique and unreproducible elsewhere.
The cellar was built according to the highest standards of architectural sustainability, the cellar fully reflects the ideals of Barone Pizzini: efficiency, and a minimal impact on the environment. Like a tree, it is partly internal to the earth, from which it captures energy and freshness to transmit them to the wine.
Baron Edoardo Pizzini founded a golf facility in 1927, one of the first in Italy. The female figure taken from an image of the time evokes the spirit of innovation that has always guided Barone Pizzini, today the first organic Franciacorta.
It represents the soul of Barone Pizzini because it embodies the living nature of all its vineyards. It was created to crown the long and pioneering path of renewal in the vineyard and in the cellar that sanctioned the birthright of Barone Pizzini in the organic experience in Franciacorta.
Franciacorta Rosè is an "organic wine", the result of the choice of processing methods, in the countryside and in the cellar, aimed at guaranteeing the maximum representation of the territory. In the vineyard only substances of natural origin are used. Biodiversity is also encouraged to allow for a balance between all forms of life, plant and animal.
The sensual and georgic Pinot Noir, from our vineyards grabbed by the woods, infuses notes of undergrowth such as black currant and cassis into the glass, as well as hints of black cherry. Of persistent harmony, punctuated by a dense texture woven into a good acid vigor.
The vinification takes shape with soft pressing, cold maceration of the grapes, fermentation in a temperature-controlled stainless steel tank. Aging: 10 months in stainless steel tanks (70%) and exhausted barriques (30%) and aging in bottle on the lees for a minimum of 30-40.
It has a delicate and bright pink color. Red fruit dominates the nose, with clear hints of raspberry, made particularly fresh by a citrusy grapefruit tone and perfectly integrated on an earthy background that refers to the forest and its fruits. In the mouth the freshness and flavor make the sinuous body of this Rosé snappy, which closes in an elegant and pleasant finish. A bubble full of juice and lots of grit.
It goes perfectly with first courses, fish, white meats, cheeses and cold cuts.
