AMARONE DELLA VALPOLICELLA "SANT'URBANO" SPERI 2018
The Speri family is one of the oldest companies to produce it: the first bottles put on the market date back to the second half of the 1950s and the company's greatest efforts have always been concentrated here.
Speri produces a single Amarone, Amarone DOCG Classico Sant’Urbano.
The harvest is exclusively manual and requires careful selection to select only the sparse bunches, i.e. those that have the best characteristics for the long natural drying on the racks.
The company has three lofts located in hilly or foothills areas with good natural ventilation that favors mold-free drying and the maintenance of the organoleptic characteristics of the grapes. The main loft is located in the center of the Speri family's Tenuta Sant’Urbano, at 300 m / above sea level, a privileged position that guarantees a dry climate and excellent ventilation.
Here the grapes are still dried on the "arele", traditional wooden and bamboo racks, well spaced from each other.
With the desire to always pursue the best possible quality, the Speri family does not produce Amarone in the less favorable years and places the wine on the market at least 12 months after the date established by the production disciplinary.
