AMARONE DELLA VALPOLICELLA "VIGNA GARZON" PIEROPAN 2017
Amarone is the symbolic wine of Valpolicella and represents an exciting challenge for the Pieropan Company. This wine comes from the desire to compete with the unique territory of Valpolicella in Cellore di Illasi. Amarone fulfills the dream of an important, rich and structured wine, but also elegant and fine, a distinctive element of the wines of the Pieropan company. The 2015 vintage will be remembered for a long time, especially for red wines it was "the great vintage". The ripening of the fruit and its health lead to a wine with great aging potential. The "Vigna Garzon" Amarone is produced with grapes from a vineyard purchased in the late 1990s in Cellore d’Illasi, in the heart of Valpolicella. It was an uncultivated plot on the south facing slope of Mount Garzon, at about 400 meters above sea level. After a long preparatory work, a calcareous-clayey soil particularly suitable for the cultivation of red berried grapes of Valpolicella was exposed
