BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO CASANOVA DI NERI 2016

Casanova di Neri has been producing its Brunello White Label since 1978 with an unmistakable style. This Brunello is characterized by finesse and elegance thanks to the union of the typicality of Sangiovese with the qualities that our unique vineyards in which it is produced give it. A wine with a great aging potential whose qualities are constant over time.
Winter was characterized by mild weather with abundant rains in February; budding was regular in the first week of April. Flowering took place in the last week of May with sunny weather, perfect for a good fruit set. The summer was generally mild, without excessive heat peaks and with some rain. The ripening took place in a slow and constant way, also thanks to the considerable temperature variations between day and night in the days preceding the harvest which favored an almost perfect ripening of the grapes.

The vinification takes place through the manual selection of the bunches before the destemming and selection of the grapes with an optical selector. Spontaneous fermentation follows without the use of added yeasts and maceration assisted by frequent punching down. Everything takes place in conical steel vats at a controlled temperature for 25 days. Then follows an aging period: 43 months in barrel - 6 months in bottle.

Usual bright red very young. On the nose, great balance between small red fruits and spices, followed by notes of chocolate. On the palate the greatness of 2016 is immediately understood: great balance of each component, perfect ripeness of tannins and excellent acidity. All factors that give immediate pleasure and let us imagine a great aging capacity.
