BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO CORTE DEI VENTI 2016
The Brunello di Montalcino wine of the Corte dei Venti winery is born in a small estate of 5 hectares, of which about half are cultivated with Sangiovese and the rest with olive groves, which is located in Piancornello, in the southernmost area of the famous hill of Montalcino, under Sant'Angelo in Colle. The vines are planted on rather steep hilly soils, characterized by medium-textured, calcareous-clayey soils, rich in iron minerals. The sunny exposures and the climate mitigated by the breezes that rise inland from the nearby Tyrrhenian Sea, help to ripen the grapes with very ripe and rich aromatic profiles.
The Brunello di Montalcino D.O.C.G. it is a wine of great gustatory intensity, fullness and roundness in the mouth are optimally supported by freshness and structure. It is aged 36 months in 20/25 hl Slovenian oak barrels and at least 8 months in the bottle.
It has a brilliant ruby red color with garnet reflections. The nose recalls the typical notes of ripe red fruit with hints of vanilla and chocolate on an ethereal and balsamic background, in which nuances of dried tobacco and medicinal herbs can be recognized. In the mouth the great gustatory intensity, fullness and roundness in the mouth are optimally supported by freshness and structure; the robust and gentle tannins give elegance and persistence to this wine and ensure it prospect and shelf life over the years.
