"BRAMITO DELLA SALA" ANTINORI 2018
Castello della Sala is located in Umbria, a short distance from the border with Tuscany, about 18 kilometers from the historic city of Orvieto. The lands of the Castle, an imposing medieval manor, extend for 500 hectares, of which 170 hectares planted with vines, halfway between the Paglia river and the summit of Monte Nibbio.
Castello della Sala was built in 1350 for Angelo Monaldeschi della Vipera, whose family had come to Italy following Charlemagne in the 9th century. From 1300 the members of the family opposed each other for the control of Orvieto, reached in 1437 by Gentile, grandson of Angelo dei Monaldeschi della Vipera and dictator of the city for about a decade. After Gentile's death in 1466, a peaceful season was inaugurated at the castle, crowned by the peacemaking marriage between Pietro Antonio della Vipera, Gentile's son, and his cousin Giovanna Monaldeschi della Cervara.
Bramito comes from the vineyards of the ancient Castle of Castello della Sala. A variety, Chardonnay, which finds in this particular terroir, a soil deriving from fossil sediments with infiltration of clay, an expression of marked minerality and elegance.
Chardonnay "Bramito" comes from the pure use of a great international indigenous white grape variety, Chardonnay. Once harvested, the grapes are de-stemmed and crushed, and undergo a short maceration of 2-4 hours, after being cooled to 10 ° C in steel tanks. The musts are transferred partly to wood and partly to stainless steel vats, where the alcoholic fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature. Only the parcels vinified in barrique undergo malolactic fermentation and refine for 5 months. Once assembled, the wine is bottled, and is therefore ready to be placed on the market.
Bramito della Sala has a straw yellow color with soft green reflections, it has a delicate aroma with notes of ripe exotic fruit and slightly citrus sensations. On the palate it has structure and elegance, good acidity and a pleasantly savory finish.
