BIANCO DI TOSCANA "CADUCEO" MONTEMERCURIO 2020

A journey of the senses in the hills of Montepulciano on the wings of Mercury. It is said that in ancient times, where the fortress of Montepulciano now dominates, there was a Roman temple dedicated to God Mercury; this historic structure gives the hill the homonymous name of Mons Mercurius, the same with which this company has been baptized today.

Its brand is inspired by Greek-Roman mythology and in particular by Mercury, the God with winged shoes who quickly provided to deliver messages among the inhabitants of Olympus. Like this legendary character, Montemercurio wine was born from the ambition to be able to transfer the most authentic and characteristic flavors and aromas of the Poliziane lands into a glass.

The vinification begins with the hand-picked grapes, de-stemmed and left in cryomaceration for at least 8 hours in contact with the skins to favor their aromatic extraction, then the clarified must is fermented in 10 hl French oak barrels at a temperature of 16- 18th c. Aging: the wine rests for at least 6 months in contact with the fermentation yeasts before being bottled and aged in the bottle for at least 3 months.

Caduceo is a straw yellow colored wine with spicy aromas of grapefruit, mint and tropical fruits. In the mouth it is elegant, with great sapidity and capable of evolving for a few years, improving and acquiring great personality.
