GEWURZTRAMINER "NUSSBAUMER" TRAMIN 2018
Cantina Tramin has always believed in this vine, trying to enhance its distinctive characteristics in the various expressions present in our range. A gem, as it is defined by critics, the Nussbaumer represents the maximum expression of the Italian style of Gewürztraminer. The most awarded Gewürztraminer in Italy.
It has been shown that this variety was already widespread in our territory more than a thousand years ago. A variety with ancient origins, noble progenitor of great prestigious vines, today loved and widespread all over the world, such as Cabernet, Riesling and the Pinot family. In this place the Gewürztraminer has found the ideal habitat to develop its distinctive intensity of aromas. Here the vineyards can be located at medium-high altitudes, facing south / south-east to enjoy sunshine and benefit from a strong temperature range that alternates hot days with cool and breezy nights. Here the Ora del Garda wind crosses the breezes that descend from the mountains, creating an Alpine-Mediterranean microclimate that offers more than 300 days of sunshine every year and allows the grapes to be perfectly ripe. Here he found a soil rich in limestone-clay elements that promptly release the heat accumulated in the central hours. This extraordinary combination of environmental elements gives our Gewürztraminer aromas, body and a pleasant touch of acidity.
The grapes are harvested entirely by hand and placed in small containers that keep them intact. After pressing, it is left to macerate briefly in the must; immediate soft pressing follows. The slow fermentation at a controlled temperature (18 ° C) in small steel containers with defrosting of the must by natural sedimentation. It is aged in small steel containers, in continuous contact with the yeasts until the end of August. After bottling, the wine is left in the bottle for a minimum of 3 months for further maturation, bringing the overall aging period to a minimum of 14 months.
It has a deep straw yellow color, golden reflections. On the olfactory level it enhances floral notes of rose petals, spicy white flowers such as lily, ylang ylang, tiare; exotic notes of ripe yellow fruit, melon, mango, passion fruit, lemon peel; aromatic spices such as cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, ginger, saffron. Full-bodied, deep, spicy, juicy, intense aroma and freshness, marked minerality that is accentuated with aging, making it even more seductive and with an extremely persistent finish.
