ORCIA BIANCO "TAGETE" POGGIO GRANDE 2019
The Tagete produced by the Poggio Grande company is a wine of elegance and softness that differs from the classic Tuscan wines. The presence of two vines of French origin characterize it and make it unique in its kind.
The harvest is done manually in the second half of September, choosing the grapes on the table. The vinification begins with the fermentation carried out for about 50% of the mass in French oak barriques; the remainder in steel vats at a controlled temperature (18 ° C), after a one week cold static decantation. The fermentation enzymatic maceration in the press follows. Finally it ages 2 months on the fine lees and 6 months in French oak tonnaeux, 50% of which are new.
The wine has a straw yellow color with golden reflections, the nose is intense, fruity, floral and mineral; at first glance there are pleasant notes of acacia honey, hawthorn and thiol sensations reminiscent of flint; by turning the wine again in the glass, hints of cedar can be seen on a background of toasted almonds, followed by pleasant traces of crunchy pear and green tea. On the palate it is full, enveloping, long and taut: the touch is sweet and velvety, elegant, supported by a high acidity and a marked sapidity. The finish is very long, a savory sensation remains in the mouth and the returns are of marzipan and very light toasting.
Perfect with risotto, white meats and sweet and sour meats, saffron-based dishes and slightly aged cheeses.
