VERMENTINO COLLI DI LUNI "PIANACCE" GIACOMELLI 2019
A decisive role, in the explosion of the organoleptic singularity of the Vermentino dei Colli di Luni, was undoubtedly played by the rebellious genius of Michelangelo Buonarroti. The Tuscan artist spent months and months in the eastern extremity of the Apuan Alps, among peaks unknown to many, but rich in precious veins of marble. It is produced in the hills of Castelnuovo Magra with a total area of about 3.5 ha.
The soil of the hills that today play hide and seek between Liguria and Tuscany therefore underwent a slow geological transformation, which slowly produced completely peculiar forms of local vegetation. They infiltrated their roots in a mixture of earth, marble dust and brackish water. An exceptional mix, unthinkable elsewhere. The Vermentino vines were among the first to undergo this unexpected modification, giving the wines fantastic salty scents, imbued with marble minerality. A plant masterpiece born from the remains of masterpieces of the human mind. Very few wines have such an illustrious history and so closely linked to a perfect synthesis between territory and artistic creativity. A wine with a truly "Michelangelo" strength.
The vinification takes place with the soft pressing of the grapes followed by fermentation at low temperatures in steel. It follows a maturation for about 5 months with rest on the yeasts and aging in the bottle for 1 month.
It has an intense straw yellow color with marked golden reflections. The nose is very broad, with notes of mint and citrus tones. The sip is particularly warm and severe, with tantalizing acidulous flashes and a closure on a saline grain
It is recommended to accompany whitebait salad, spaghetti with seafood, mussel soup at 12 ° C in medium-sized goblet glasses.
